here’s something i learned at empower this weekend. pastor um used this verse in one of his sessions.

“Even if the fig tree does not grow figs

and there is no fruit on the vines,

even if the olives do not grow

and the fields give no food,

even if there are no sheep within the fence

and no cattle in the cattle,

yet I will have joy in the Lord.

I will be glad in the God Who saves me. ”

– habakkuk 3:17-18

here’s how i interpreted the verse… if all is wrong in the world…. in my world… it’s ok.. cause God will always pull me through it. why should i need to worry about trivial things?

as ned flanders sings…

‘Que sera, sera,

‘Whatever will be, will be;

‘The future’s not ours to see.

‘Que sera, sera,

pastor um put an added spin on it. he said.. if you praise God even when things are at your worst…. it’d be a curse for God to give even more bad things. i’m not sure if that makes sense right now… but it made sense for me at the time.

there was also something else pastor um said that gloria wrote down to tell me.. but right now.. it escapes me… it had something to do with bottling up anger. i’ll have to ask her about it .
